Yup, I was in Guitar Center today and I tried to play a 2001 Ash bodied translucent Teal Stingray. I noticed that the output was very weak with or without the battery in it. Thinking that the preamp may be shot I brought this to the sales kid's attention and he discounted it from $699.99 to $450... including tax!!
Because its a used instrument, it will be released on the 17th so I put $$$ down to hold it.

Since I have the exact preamp needed in my parts box I'll be heating my soldering iron come the 17th; Sounds like an easyone to me!!

  2. Wow, great deal. I got mine for $600 on ebay which wasn't too bad either.

Damn, both are great deals. The cheapest I ever find musicmans are for 1000.

Hehehe.....I know which GC you were at, and I know someone who works there. I can afford that much for a SR. Thanks for the heads up!

:hyper: How about some Pic's of that jewel!!
  6. Its a little strange to get a Stingray for that price... I mean, here in Europe you'd pay around 2000€ for one of those brand new, so getting it for $450 here, only if it was falling apart... :eyebrow:

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.

I've bought mine, new for 2400 Canadian $.. with the piezo pick-up and the Burnt Apple colors (50$) who is discontinued now...
And when i record with it.. i found that she sound like she have a little chorus on it.. and she "crack" on the lower string.. can it be my pick-up? ( and yes... i've changed my battery)
Are you guys thinking that changing the original pick-up is a good idea?
