Just placed my order for a Kiesel/Carvin Vanquish bass!

    And so the wait begins! I just put a down payment on a custom Vanquish 4 string bass from Kiesel/Carvin. Here are the specs:

    Maple Neck/Swamp Ash Body
    Translucent Sunset Burst
    Antique Ash Treatment
    Clear Gloss Finish
    Tung Oil Finish Back Of Neck
    Ash Headstock Matches Body Finish
    Birdseye Maple Fingerboard (Tung-Oiled)
    Abalone Dot Inlays
    Black Hardware
    Ivory Graph Tech TUSQ Nut

    With the 7-9 week lead time I've got a while to wait. I had been lusting over one of their 7 string guitars (been watching too many djent videos on Youtube) but realized that I should stick to what I'm good at. ;)

    I'll update the thread when I get my bass.

    Good luck with the wait. When I ordered my Icon in September, I was quoted 6-8 weeks but it was actually 10. Still, it was worth the wait, as yours will be.

    Can't wait to see pictures!

    I just got the shipping notice (and the remainder of the bill charged to my credit card) for my new bass. It should be here on Wednesday. I'll post pics when I get her!

    Oh, and 10 weeks to the day from ordering.

    I know one or two guys who recently got Keisels and were surprised to see they had totally muffed the position of the 12th fret side dots (off center, not level, etc). If you wouldn't mind, would you let me know how they did on yours once you get it? :)

    Cool man. I'm really glad they were able to finish it before they went out of business. Whew, that was a close call. Lol!

    To be fair, I did try to find some other thread that he's been active in to try to understand the reference -- without success. Hence I assumed it was a serious comment.

    I ordered a Carvin in 2012. 12th fret side dots were not even by a mile, glue on board where frets meet the fingerboard, scratch lines on the fretboard and the the lamest piece of BEM ever for the fingerboard. I think there were all of 20 'eyes'.

    I have more than one Carvin. my 94 was perfect.
    I should have returned it but oh well.

    Primal, sorry you haven't seen the thread about "I predict the demise of Carvin" I totally defended them and am a user of Carvin gear. Thank you Tanner for the defense. A good friend of mine is sponsored by Carvin and has a number of very nice Carvin basses. Search Ben Jones bass on YT. Anyway enjoy man I meant no harm. Peace, Kirk

    Yeah, first it was Warwick, then Ken Smith, then Carvin. It's kill the bass company month I guess ;)
