I have been playing bass for like a year and a half, and man, I sounded awesome on that thing, someone asked me for lessons, I'm serious! Anyway, those pickups are unbelievable. I have an Ibanez Ergodyne 5 string, and man, I would love to get pickups that can give me that sound. Anything I can do?

It is just not the pickups, a great sound needs many ingredients, like mix of woods, quallity of the woods, hardware (brigde, tuner machines) and of course craftmanship.......

Also a good amp should help A LOT...

(just my 3 cents of the day)

Try some quallity replacement pickups, like Bartolini, Seymor Duncan Basslines, Di Marzio etc etc

I once had impure thoughts. Oh, and I pluck my ear hair.
Easy now, guys! I mean hell - just last week I plugged in Vic Wooten's new Signature Model Carlos Robelli! Blows the doors off of those cheesey Foderas he is so obviously forced to play!

    ;) :p

Oh yeah, that's nothing. I played Jaco's Rogue Signature 7-string...yesterday...when...we went to lunch together, yeah that's the ticket! He said it blew the doors of the new John Turner Signature 2-stringer, something given to me by my wife...Cindy Crawford ,yeah that's it!

Ok, ok, let's give him the benefit of the doubt here. Perhaps he confused the Modululs Flea model (Not Flea's per se, but his signature) with a Musicman, which Flea has been known to play. Now, possibly, FROM THERE, he could have confused Musicman with G&L, since they're both somewhat Fender oriented.

At least I hope that's what happened. Otherwise, I'm as confused as the rest of you.

What I find incredibly sad is the number of people who do not know the connection both companies have to Leo Fender. I was at the local music MusicMan dealer today, and actually argued with one of the employees about MusicMan being one of Leo Fender's companies. Another guy there was backing him up, too! I had to pull a book off of the shelf and prove to them that MusicMan was Leo's. The first guy's strongest arguement against me was that he worked at Gibson, so he would know. Big F***in' Deal!
