Playing with the Rippingtons in Tampa. I was surprised to see him playing a Fender Jazz 5-string! What happened to the Roscoe? However, just as the other two times I took in the Rippingtons, the bass was more felt than heard.

Kim is a Fender endorser now.

I had a Roscoe... nice bass. I preferred my Jazz Deluxe 5.

Not that there is anything wrong with the Fender. I am sure it was custom shop all the way.

I doubt it. I've had excellent results with off the rack Fenders... so do some of the endorsers. Heck, Ray Reindeau has an MIM among other things;)

It was probably off the rack. Hmmm...maybe I'll have to return to my roots....again.

He seems like a pretty fickle guy...

I remember at one point he said that the melody's he hears in his head require a 6 string...so he ordered a Roscoe 3 string. Now he's at a 5 string!

But hey, can't go wrong with a jazz bass, so who knows! Good for him, I say.
