Went down to Bass Northwest to try this Carvin AC 50 that they had dropped the price to $ 499.00. I am planning on selling my fretted Turner 5 string as I want all my basses to be 34".

They were putting in a new battery and appearently, if you put it in backwards it can fry the board. And it did.

So Evan says, how about $ 200.00 ? I said YES.

Called Carvin. The most a new board will be is $ 100.00. Maybe less. I have to call tomorrow to talk to the guy who can give me the correct part description.

So max will be around $ 300.00. :D

    Here it is:

  2. Seriously, Carvin didn't add a $.10 diode to protect against reverse polarity power supply connections? Perhaps you should use your $100 to get a different brand of active electronics...

I am hoping that it might be an inexpensive repair. It is strange, there is full sound for about 3-5 seconds then it goes to VERY low sound and a lot of " scratchy " distortion like a loose jack but the jack is not loose.

Hoping it is an easy fix. I may very well go with different electronics. The piezo pup works fine.

It came BEADG. I just restrung it EADGC and adjusted the neck. Puurfect !!
