Well, I just got a GK Backline 410. It's a surprisingly decent cabinet for the price. I am currently waiting for a new head which should come in the next couple of weeks, but until then I am going into my BDDI into a Crown power amp. I haven't heard any negative side effects from the cab, but I am not a very electronically inclined person. So or there any unforseen risks in using this setup?

nope. As long as you're careful not to overpower the cabinet you should be fine. Worst thing about that combination is that the bddi doesnt have enough juice to drive the poweramp to it's full potential. If it makes you feel better me and a ton of other TBers have doen the same exact thing.
