Juzek Bass in NYC

Thanks for taking a look. Here's the short blurb:

There is a juzek label inside! It says "John Juzek, Violinmaker in Prague"

This instrument has a nice, complex tone and amplifies very well. It is great on the NYC transit system. I've used it in professional theatre, klezmer, jazz, and orchestral work.

I have a high quality youtube video and MP3's showcasing the sound of the bass. I can provide more information and links to serious inquiries.

I've played this bass consistently for about 10 years and love it, but I need a different setup for what I'm pursuing right now.

This Bass has lived in Texas, DC, and NYC (for the past 6 years). It has needed very little work. The upper bout rear seams were sealed up after last winter and a small crack was cleated last year at david gage.

I'm a Spirocore guy, so the red snapper is what's on there!
If I were to keep the bass I'd consider trying out some ZYEX strings.

The main advantage of this instrument is it's tone. If you do a lot of jobs that need good pizz and arco (like a tango group), this bass will make you very happy.

the Neck is non original, every luthier I take it to ask "who did that work?" I don't know, but they're always impressed

Bass comes with a mooridian bag and realist pick up

Although this was my primary bass, it would make an excellent second bass for someone! Portable, great tone, leave it in the pit for that 2 month run. If you play this bass you'll like it, come on over! Thanks

Thanks for the kind words. Smaller basses are great! 6 years with no wherl, over the turnstile no hassle! It pains me to have my dear Bass on the market, but we had a good run (10 years). They have a 3/4 size juzek at the college with zyex, really got me interested. Thanks, and Cheers!
