I'm just looking for a couple second opinions. I have a musicman stingray classic 5 that was sold to me with a John East Music Man 3 knob stacked preamp. I also have the original preamp. I'm thinking of returning it to stock. Opinions? 20160108_045704_atc_1506086452844.

Is it possible for you to go to a music store and compare a stock Classic 5 next to your John East loaded bass?

It's weird because I remember how they should sound. And it's actually very close. You just get a little more Bass and you get to screw with the mids. It's almost out of principle.. I started to think that they did this entire instrument in the specific way for a specific reason... simple, vintage, and solid. But here I am running extremely high tech preamp

I'm highly opinionated and extremely self-assured
East stuff rules. I'd keep it. If you don't, let me know!
