Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

keep what i've got or start again?

  1. sorry about the double post

    i have been finishing a bass with automotive acrylic paint and it is working OK?! except i can see the outline of a block of wood i put over a previous pup route and then rerouted for a different pup. also althought i used 4 coats of grain filler (water based) this is still the odd bit of grain.
    i have done some more reading and realised i should have used a sand and sealer before the colour coats.
    should i sand it back to wood or should i try and make the paint that's is on there smooth without any shiny bits? will the outline of the block of wood always show thru?
    boy is this project stacking up the hours
