Hi, I thought I'd get a jump on the party. We actually had to load in the night before, after the park closed, to setup and sound check for our NYE gig at Cars Land. The Mouse made it worth our while. The rain held off but it was pretty chilly, in the low 40s. The stage setup was the same as last year. The stage crew was still setting up stuff when we arrived. They took great care of us, very accommodating. We have six mixes, tons of lighting, and a back line. {} They were using the lift to add even more lights. {} I've got my fingerless gloves handy. The gloves worked great. I wish my fingers worked better. {} Here's a shot from the sound booth. {} This is where Jeff says, "Here's your sign." {} If you haven't been to Cars Land you will be absolutely amazed at how much the town of Radiator Springs looks like the movie. It's uncanny the way the Disney Imagineers put this section of the park together. Notice the same SWR Redhead amp that I used for the "Nashville" show last summer. It's a cool little amp. Anyway, I'll be back after the gig with some real gig pictures to share the fun. I hope you all have a great gig and a Happy New Year! Thank you for your indulgence, BassCliff
Cold and Anaheim are relative things. Down in the LA basin, anything less than 70 degrees Fahrenheit means time to wear the fur coat. There might be some hot girls in shorts, but they will be visitors from Minnesota.
Cliff, It's going down to 42 by midnight, Your a Pro Bass player, you might need one of these at BASSPro shops. http://www.basspro.com/Mr-Heater-Portable-Buddy-Propane-Heater/product/10210207/ Bass humor ...
Hi, That would be a great idea. But I'll just wear two pair of socks, a hat, and lots of layers. By the way, The Mouse doesn't feed us at this gig. But I can take some pictures of the snacks we bring. Thanks to everyone for playing along and putting up with my little musical endeavors. Please share your gigs too! Happy New Year! Thank you for your indulgence, BassCliff
Thanks Cliff. Always enjoy your gig posts. Keep them coming. And good luck with the gig tonight! Oh yeah... Happy New Year!
I used to think playin new years was a must do, now I could give a rats *ss. The only way Im leavin the house on NYE is if theres a subsantial paycheck involved. We have a couple nice paying Holiday party's comin up next month. Sounds like you've got the layers thing happenin so you should be good, I'd get some of those gloves with the fingertips cut off
