I am thinning the herd as I am traveling a ton for work and not playing currently. Unfortunately, one of these two basses must go. If I don’t have the time to play them, then someone else should own one. I am a huge fan of Ken’s basses. Excellent craftsmanship, easy to play and sound fantastic. His Chamberbrase fretless basses have a wide variety of tonal options and an incredible “woody” tone with great sustain. The traditional cut with the Chechen top - I ordered this new late last year. It has never left my house. It’s in excellent condition. The single cut with the Brazilian Rosewood top w/ Spalted Sapwood top - I have had this bass for about 10 years. I’ve gigged with it but have kept it in very good shape. It’s my favorite fretless. If you’re a KL fan, you know the wait time and the cost for one of his instruments. My price: 6100 for either one plus shipping. No trades at this time. The lines are very helpful! I don't get to play as often as I'd like so having the partial lines is great for playing in tune.
How isn’t one of these fine instruments not gone??? I don’t think people know how great these are. Or should I say spectacular!!! Ken Lawrence is one of the industry’s finest builders. Jeff is also great to deal with. One of these need a good home!
Thanks, Man!! I haven't been pushing them hard as I'm still conflicted on selling! lol! But I'm just not playing enough and they sure deserve to be heard.
Love both of these basses especially the Chamberbrase! I used to own a ChamberbraseII with a Brazilian top similar to yours. How long are the KL build times now three years?
I've seen and handled Ken Lawrence basses a couple of times, IRL... The quality of workmanship and tone was astonishing.
