i think i said it when you had it up last time....man, that is a sweet bass!

if you had to compare it to the sound of a recorded bassist's tone, what would you say it sounded like? what's the control layout? just so ya know, i'm prostrated in front the wif begging... ;)

    Hmmm.... a Mark Hoppus Fender...

LOL!! Just kidding. You know I've always believed that a bass' "sound" is just as much dependent on the person who's playing it as much as it's components. So, I have to say that when I play this bass... it sounds like "ME". I don't try to mimic another's sound, but if I had to pick someone to compare it to it'd probably be Sean Malone's tone. When I play I normally run 80% bridge pup + 20% neck (sometimes full bridge). The mids & bass I have set at about 80% with the treble at about 30%. I try to get my "ideal sound" which I would describe as "cold". Lots of bassists seem to want to go for that "warm, tube" sound but Im right opposite.. Cold, tight, focused, punchy, is what I go for and this bass lets me do that. But I can tweak the controls, mess with the EQ and I can (to my ear) sound like Mark Egan, or Manring, or Gene Simmons. Ultra scoop my EQ and I'm clicking along like good ol' FiEldY.. Can you see what I'm saying??

A few posts above I have a shot of the control cavity. The preamp has a main volume, blend knob, and bass/mid/treble controls. There's a switch which I think might be a series/parallel switch... Really dont know for sure. Haven't researched and honestly don't use it too much.

LOL!! Good luck!! I don't have one anymore, so I can buy all the toys I want now!!

Congrats both of ya, except now I won't get to meet the KL at BSIV. Unless you come down, Yvon...

I guess this means more Conklin madness will follow.
