I found out how to get my old four track, "which I have not used for years! to interface with my laptop, so I recorded some stuff, the sound card on my pc is really noisy, but, I was just fooling around, so I made a half hearted attempt at playing a sample of "let the praise begin" by Fred Hammond on my KEN SMITH BSR5GN..I will probably get fried by some, but its all good, I am just having fun.

You sound fine to me except for one muff. That drum machine would tell on you if your time wasn't right. I just wish you had slapped it a bit more. I miss that Ken Smith sound. I would love a Sadowsky one day, but I think I would like to get another Ken Smith to replace that bolt-on Six I used to have.

Thanks DR, May I ask why you parted with your BSR bolt-on you had?

I got rid of my Ken Smith 6 on a really dumb impulse. A friend of mine who has a Ken Smith 5 loves his bass so much, I found myself saying that I would let mine go because I didn't worship a bass. So I traded it towards a Modulus Quantum 5. I know what I said makes no sense, but trading away a really great bass makes no sense either.

  6. As long as you like the Modulus... no problem!

However that was a Ken Smith, bro!!!!!

I wish I could have one. The sound is so thumpy!!! I Love it!!!

Nice tone man. I traded a Smith 5 string J for a new BSR5MW and never looked back. I rotate it with my Metro and I've had the Smith for a record 3 years and no plans to ever let it go. The tone is just too sweet!!!!!!
