Body is in mint condition. Pickups were swapped out for Barts (bought it that way). Don't have original pups.
Slight hum in electronics. Original BSR B case but not the original case to this bass. Weighs 8.5 lbs. Neck and setup are great. Great B string. Custom models have Walnut or Tiger Maple bodies and 5 piece necks.

$1350 shipped anywhere in the USA

Some last bit of info. I think the hum is in the pickups as it is there with the preamp bypassed. It does come in and out as you move the bass around. If I were buying this bass I would buy a set of Smith pups for it and put it back to its original condition. It's really a great bass with a great neck and B string and superlight at only 8.5 lbs.

Probably single coils. I had Barts like those and they did the same. All in all once you get playing with the band you cant hear the buzz and they have a nice classic sound to them.

This is my " I really don't want to mess with getting new pickups and fixing the hum, I'd rather someone else do it" bump.

Last price drop before I just pull the ad and bite the bullet,
fix it up and put it on ebay.

    $1350.00 shipped anywhere in USA.

I'm no Smith expert, but I believe this is essentially the same thing as the Burner just a different name. It is the imported model from japan, I think.

    Great looking bass, btw.

Sorry but you are incorrect. The link says exactly what the differences are between the Burner and BSRB and it isn't " just the name ". It is the body shape and headstock that differentiate the two. It has the more ergonomic offset body while the Burner has a symmetrical body. The BSRB is much better balanced. This is the Custom model with walnut body and five-piece neck.

There NOW you're an expert ;)

Thank you for the lesson. :D

I understand the body shape is different. My point was (and I'm sorry it got lost in translation :() is that this was Ken's made in Japan series.

Good luck with your sale, from what I hear these are great basses!

Thought I would resurrect this one.

    Still for sale.

Called Ken Smith aout the pickups and he said he didn't
really like "his" pickups in these. He didn't make them and he just seemed not thrilled. He said the Barts probably make the bass sound better.

So how about a CRAZY price drop to

    $1200.00 shipped lower 48

On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being just audible it's probably a 2. Of course it's subjective.
