While looking for a round that was smooth to the touch, I ended up trying Ken Smith Slick (ground) rounds.

I think I have found a winner. They are smooth and quiet, yet retain the clang that my Ric needs. If you like flats but want the ring of a SS round, you need to give these a try. And at $21 a set, price isn't a factor for most.

Slick rounds are nice but are closer to flats and very similar to other half/ground wounds that I've tried. IMO they didn't sound that close to rounds. The Compressors are real nice if you want a smooth string close to rounds in sound but with reduced zing and expanded thump.

    I'll give'em a try.
  4. best strings ever...

i've been playing my lakland hollowbody with darkstars lately. on that bass the slick rounds can do the flat thing very well, but i can dig in a little and make them snarl or i can dig in a lot and make them roar.
