Kenny Burrell....for uncomplicated jazz noodling?

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by ZenG, Dec 22, 2016.

  1. I like his work for no-fuss-no-muss jazz improvising on bass...

How about you? If so, any other jazz artists similar to him?

Is there a specific Burrell album you are talking about?
Sometimes he used Monk Montgomery on electric bass...look for other recordings with Monk.

Burrell is sometimes visited with the Soul-Jazz/Hard Bop sub-genre of Jazz.
Wes Montgomery's Smokin' At The Half Note…maybe some Horace Silver, too?
