So I play both the keyboard and the bass guitar in a band.
I've been using just a simple roland keyboard amp for awhile now. I'm going to be purchasing a new bass rig though.

    in short,

can keyboards be plugged into bass amps? safe? or not safe?
  2. Safe? Absolutely. Desirable? Not so much.

I don't know, depends if your keyboard playing is full range, or just bass synth. I did bass synth with a bass amp. Brilliant. Otherwise, you want the keyboard amp for a brighter top end.

I let our keyboard player use my Iamp800 and NL210 at one of our rehearsals and it sounded great, outstanding , much better then the carvin pa he uses as a keyboard amp. The NL210 also sounded great with an acoustic guitar.

A good KB amp is the same as a good PA amp.
Bass sounds great through both, but you may need to add signal processing, like from a preamp to achieve coloration as both KB and PA amps would be clean.
