  1. I'm thinking of getting a keyboard to add to my budding home studio (currently, my very simple "studio" consists of 2 basses, pro co rat , reverb effects unit, roland dr-8 drum machine and cakewalk sonar).

I have considered some of the soft synths, since I've replaced my cassette 4 track with Sonar now, but I think it would be cool to have an actual keyboard instead of a soft synth on a laptop for possible live applications. I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on keyboards in the $500 or below range. If possible, I'm also looking for something analog or analog modeling. Love keyboards with knobs that you can fiddle with on the fly. Anything specific you recommend?

Right now I'm looking at maybe picking up a used Novation Bass Station, something like an old Roland Juno 60, and even some of those Korg Electribe groove-boxy things (although I'm not sure I dig those as much)

    Any thoughts?
