Beautiful Kiesel 5-string Fretless jazz bass in excellent condition. Sounds great, plays great, feels great, looks great. This bass has a lovely mellow, "woody" tone. It is not a super bright "hi-fi" sound. Not sure how much of that is the strings, how much is the wood, and how much is the pickups. My instincts tell me it is the natural voice of the bass itself, i.e. the wood, although I have not tried changing the strings to experiment. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - it sounds beautiful exactly as it is. There are a few swirl marks on the pickguard just from being played normally, shown in photos at the optimum angle to make them stand out as much as possible. In person they are trivial. Aside from that, the bass looks as good as any new bass hanging on the wall in a store. I recently purchased it here: SOLD - Kiesel JB5 Fretless Antique Ash Aside from giving it a pro setup for maximum mwah, it is in the same condition as received. I was so impressed with this bass and with Kiesel in general that I bought three others. (See last pic.) No point being a hoarder. The other 3 are all identical (Bromberg Signature model), so for consistency I will play those and let this baby go to a new home. $1,300 shipped CONUS.
