    SOLD!

TOTALLY amazing bass, not one mark on it, not one thing wrong with it. This may be the hardest bass for me to flip yet... I'm just a lot more into my MTDs and Skjolds these days.

    • 34.5" scale
    • 19mm spacing
    • 9 pounds
    • Ash body (upgrade)
    • 3T Sunburst (upgrade)
    • Maple neck
    • Birdseye maple board (upgrade)
    • Pearl blocks, and white binding (upgrade)
    • Nordstrand NJS5 pickups (upgrade)
    • Pickups in the 70's position
    • Silver shell G&G deluxe fender style hard case (upgrade)

It's currently passive... blend-vol-tone, but the second knob is wired as another passive tone knob so it could also be used for more effect). It also has an end-jack, so a 4 knob preamp would drop right in.

Low action, strong tone. Impeccable construction quality and attention to detail. Plays extremely well. Upgraded at the factory with the Hipshot B bridge and Dunlop straploks. This bass is only a few months old, and I think replacement cost would currently be over 3K (MSRP over 4K) with all the features and upgrades:

    From: http://nordstrandguitars.com/nordy.htm

    • vJ5 Vintage style J bass $3,090.00
    • Options
      • Burst, trans, or metallic finish $150.00
      • Maple fingerboard with Swamp Ash body $100.00
      • Birdseye maple fingerboard $100.00
      • Split silent J pickups (NJ5S) $100.00
      • Tortoiseshell pickguard $50.00
      • Plastic blocks and binding $400.00
      • G&G custom hardshell case $280.00
    • Total $4,270.00 (WITHOUT straplocks and bridge!)

I'm figuring the cash purchase price would be about 3300 on this one, but I'll let it go for $2400 shipped, and like I said, it's essentially new. Someone needs to give this insane bass the love it deserves.

I've been waiting for one of these to come around. But the timing is not right for me. I just bought a Ken Smith! I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling it. :)

Actually, I don't think he'd have to. He's PM'd me about something else he has going on, so he's currently second in line. Just waiting on the first response.

I can't sell the Smith -- I don't even have it in my possession yet! :D Still working through that deal. So, when I saw the Nordy, I was like :eek::eek:. So if/when I get in line for the Nordy, I've got a buyer lined up for another one of my basses. :bassist: It's been a busy week, and it's only Tuesday!

I know, I do feel kinda' bad about it, 'cause it really is great. It's a side effect of not being able to really spend time with high end stuff without actually buying it and risking finding out after a while it didn't quite fit you as well as you'd hoped... and DEFINITELY through no fault of the design, quality, or manufacturer. Instruments are such personal things. I just have learned to accept it as an unfortunate truth. :meh: I still have nothing but the HIGHEST praise for you guys and your work!!! Trust me... this bass has absolutely nothing wrong with it whatsoever!! :)

Vic is a top notch guy to deal with, and Nordy's definitely are well made instruments. Someone is getting a killer deal here.

Folks, that is a GREAT deal on a stunning bass! Vic is as reputable and honest as they come. If I didn't have my second Nordy coming in a few weeks, I'd be mighty tempted to jump on this smokin' hot Nordy deal!

Yeah, thanks guys for all the kind words, and let me tell you again, I DO NOT have any big issues with this bass. It's all relative. This is, without a doubt, a fantastic instrument, and I'd be surprised if it ever got flipped again. Very surprised.

Make no mistake, this was a hard choice!

There are two reasons I priced it to sell... 1.) To move it quickly so I could feel "less pain" about it :) and 2.) Because I like to support TB and create opportunities for folks if I can. I'm very blessed with a lot of "toys", so I "share" when I can, by pricing aggressively if I'm able. I feel that's my way of saying "thanks" for what I have. DO NOT MISinterpret this to be my assessment of its true worth. Not by a dang sight. :) Carey's work is impeccable, and these have gotten a lot nicer since the original versions.

I remember that bass when it left the shop... I liked a lot how it sounded...fat!

    It's definitely a gret deal!

    Damn right!

It's cool tho... just closed the deal with someone, and he is absolutely top notch. Seriously! I'm actually particularly happy it's going to this guy. :)

Besides, we have a tradition to keep up with, but that's another (and very funny) thread about just how small our world really can be. :)

    SOLD! :)
