I have grown to be concerned about the 'speedbump issue', and yesterday took my Kingsy to the local luthier to have its frets removed. Who needs two fretted fives, anyways!

The difficult part is how to handle the 0-fret. I asked Mike about this, and he suggested that I should have the nut moved to where 0-fret currently sits, or that he could perhaps get me fretless neck for it. With the local luthier, however, we decided to take different route. The jumbo-style fret is going to be replaced with a smaller one, with grooves cut on it like on a nut to get the action low enough.

In a week, we'll see how it works.

I dont know how the open notes will sound compared to a fretted note.

Kinda kills the 0 fret idea.

Id recommend moving a wood nut to the correct spot.
