my neighbor just gave me a KMD bass amp for free. I was tryin to find some info on them on the internet but it pretty hard to find any info about them. does anyone know if they are good amps any information is helpful thanks
In the 80's, KMD was part of the Kaman Music Corporation, best known for Ovation guitars. I have no real knowledge about their product line, except that they used to make a guitar overdrive pedal that is possibly the best light-to-medium overdrive pedal I have ever used. I bought it used for $20, too. Blows away a TS-808 or TS-9, IMHO.
Hi. http://www.google.com/search?hl=fi&q=kmd+amps&meta=&aq=5&oq=KMD I had a KMD 4*12" slanted guitar cab back in the 80's. Performed as well as an eqvivalent Marshall, but looked, well, different. Not so classy IMHO. They had some pretty big names in their stable as You can see . I'd say that they're pretty decent amps and consedering the "price" I'd say You got lucky. Regards Sam
just to show you I've been kicking around this industry too long, I was affiliated with KMD amps too. ..and yes, Trace as mentioned before. As Jimmy said, KMD was a Kaman Music line...stood for Kaman Music Distribution. Some of those amps were bullet proof. I've spoken highly of Traynor/Yorkville on this forum before....that is one reason why....they manufactured some KMD for us.
Did you have anything to do with that orange overdrive pedal they made? If so, great job. If not, great job anyway
