Knob backwards?!

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Davidoc, Nov 10, 2001.

  1. I recently acquired an old Washburn p type bass. (a B-2) After messing with the wiring, I got a strange result; when the volume knob goes past a certain point, it cuts off. That is weird.

Even weirder, when I unground the volume tab. (disconnect the 3rd tab from the outside), the volume knob works in reverse!... well sort-of... when it's at max, the volume is fairly low, but decently loud. When down all the way, it's really loud.

Anyone know how to fix this? Can I just go without a volume knob? Is that ok?

Reverse the wire positions on the pot? Try it.

  4. well thanks for the suggetions! (and the bonk)

I got it to work somehow; I'm not sure how. I took it apart and rewired the whole thing. (It works)
