i went with chrome. if the pink ivory matched the FB and PUs exactly, i would have went with that choice.

I think that the wood knobs are beautiful. It gives the bass a more organic feel. I think that the chrome hardware detracts from the natural look of the bass.

I think the chrome ones look out of place next to the wood P'up covers.

You sir, have some of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen. Saying that, definately go with the pink ivory.

I vote for the chrome just to try and get you off that Pink Ivory trip you've been on.... ;)
j/k.....they both look friggin' awesome. Which ones do you or the customer like? Probly easier to tell in person.
P.S.>>>>got any extra pink ivory fretboards layin' around that you wanna sell? :p

I didn't vote, honestly to me both don't fit. It would work if bridge was pink as well, or pup covers were chrome with crome knobs. Lets see a picture of 3 pink and 3 chrome all mixed with every possible combination. :rollno:

Oh yeah what color is the headstock?

I didn't vote 'cos I'd much rather have the knobs the same wood as the top... but if it was to be either chrome or pink ivory, I'd go pink ivory :)

It could be that the knobs are finished [well that’s what they look like to me anyway] and the PUs & FB are not.

wow cliff your basses are beautiful.

since the bridge is chrome , chrome knobs would be more of a balance , so in conclusion , to heck with balance , go with the ivory.

is this bass sold to a tb'er' ?

    It isn't sold yet.
The buyer can choose which knobs they want i guess.

  14. I'm going to have to agree with Doug. The ivory knobs are too dark and don't quite match the pickups. Because the chrome matches the bridge, I vote for that.

That is what I think too.
The knobs were made by THG, maybe he soaked them in CA
glue to keep them from splintering?

I keep coming back to this thread to admire the bass and I believe I've changed my mind. Definately go with the chrome.

  17. man, that's one HOT mamasita!

I like the chrome. I believe the knobs should go with the hardware color.

Actually, the knobs were not soaked in CA. They were, however, oiled and buffed. That is probably why they are darker than the fret board and pup covers. Here is a solution - make the bridge out of pink Ivory. :)

Cliff, the stock for the knobs was the same stock as that used for he pup covers, correct?
