    A 'weighty' tale of 4 basses (& a 3/4 guitar).
I borrowed the posting scales from work today to 'finally' check the weight of my basses, and the outcome took me pleasantly by surprise.
Weights are in kg (x 2.2 for lbs).

Do you know EXACTLY what your bass weighs? - I know mine.
    Greg.
    _8106742.
    _8106743.
    _8106744.
    _8106745.

And the wifes 3/4 acoustic for good measure:
    _8106746.

Pretty damn pleased with that = Nothing over 9lbs

    Nice.

I know all the weights of mine, but only within a 1/10th of a kilogram (a decagram, I guess) using a digital bathroom scale that isn’t 100% consistent to the tenth of a kilo accuracy level. Still, close enough.

I have one bass at 9.2 lbs (even though pounds don’t normally come in tenths, so 9 lbs. 3 oz) and one guitar at 9.5 lbs. The rest are, fortunately, all under 9 lbs.

Congrats on your success in this weighty matter!

I'm actually surprised at the relative light weight of the Washburn headless considering all the brass on-board.

Is a Traveler TB-4P 32" scale but takes full scale strings.
Strung with DiAddario tape wounds at the moment.
Awesome fun. Super light. Great sound. Great travel bass.

I’ve got 30 of them and I know exactly what they all weigh. It’s kind of an obsession.

My Ibanez is 1/2 pound heaver than my Telcaster.

As I've forgotten what the Tele weighed, I don't know what the bass weighs.

However I remember being impressed that it wasn't much heavier. Whatever that is.

    Yep. 9lbs 2.5oz
    C7B30941-EC97-4B77-AA61-FD6E0391536B.

Pretty good for a 6-string. It was 9lbs even IIRC before I added a preamp.

I built them, and I do know their weights - all between 6.7 and 7.8 pounds. Building a bass to a light weight is interesting and challenging - EVERYTHING (even the weight of the knobs) matters. I have 2 scales - a postal one, and a kitchen one that I use to weigh parts, and the whole thing, down to the gram

My mahogany Carvin JB5 weighs 11 pounds 11 ounces, it would eventually send a western lowland gorilla to the chiropractor but it sounds like God yodeling.
