Kool and the Gang + Spearhead

    Saw these two acts cross my path last night at a local blues festival.

    All I can say is that I was totally "bassed" out - both Kool Bell and Spearhead bassist Carl Young were absolutely brilliant - great heavy tones and grooves out of both of them, despite their vast difference in musical genres...

    And...I bumped into the boys from Spearhead at the hotel that I had a meeting at this morning...too cool.

    DD - inspired just a little bit more...

    i saw spearhead open for 311 in 1997 (i didnt like 311 nor heard of spearhead but a friend won tickets)

    i liked spearhead more than 311

    (sure did catch a mighty big contact high from that concert) :eek:

    10-4 on that - no wonder I was digging into my stash of chips and salsa after the show....

    Also saw the Allman Brothers last night - man, that Oteil Burbridge is one bad cat on the bass. Now I know what a 6-string bass is for!

    DD - even more inspired than the other day!
