I`ve never played Spectors and only heard them in recordings.
Last friday I went to watch a local Jazz/Latin/Funk trio (Daniel Maza trio) and really loved the sound of the bass.
I don`t know the exact model (was a black 5 strings, neck through, two soapbars, 4 knobs, made in Korea).
The bass was great at both fingerstlye and slap. I always thought that the "good ones" were Czech and USA Spectors.
Seems to be I was wrong.
Can anybody tell me which model is it ?
  2. Think it was an NS2000/5 Black Stain :hyper:

Yep, that's what it must have been. They've been discontinued, though.

I've got one (the same model/color as the one you described), and it's a very nice bass. I just bought a ReBop 5 though, so I may end up selling it if I like the Rebop more.
  4. I have a Korean made thru neck spector from 1986, is that any good?

That's a good bass, made by Kramer when they owned Spector. Not sure what that's got to do with the question though?

Yep, I'd agree.... it sounds like an NS2000/5. Great bass and worth picking one up if you see one. There are bargains to be had on these on the 2nd hand market. :)

    Thanks for the reply.
I know there was a Spector specialist here but couldn`t remember your name (next time I`ll think about Peter Cetera).

BTW, how does it compare to the other Spectors 5 ?
