Hello, fellow TBers! Today I ordered at my local music shop a PT 1 and when I asked the guy for a Korg Pitchblack to go with it he tried to sell me a TC Electronics Polytune instead, claiming that it tracked better and was more accurate. I'm on a tight budget and the Pitchblack is 20€ cheaper than the Polytune, so I'd like to know if it's really worth it to pay the difference.

I've had a pitchblack for more than a year now, good quality tuner. You really can't go wrong for the price. I can't compare it directly to the polytune since I've never used one but I've heard it was more accurate. I say save some money and go with the picthblack ... it is accurate enough, but that's just my two cents.

    Actually, the Pitchblack is cheaper.

Thus the "save some money and buy the pitchblack"
I meant that it was cheaper. Sorry, I can see how that could be taken the other way.

I run a pitchblack, and my guitarist runs a polytune. At least once a month he talks about how he wishes he'd gone with the pitchblack, and everytime we have an outdoor gig.

My guitarist friend and me both have a Pitchblack. It's good.

I've had experience with BOSS' TU-2 and TU-3, they are also good.

They tune your guitars and basses. Amazing.
