Spring cleaning - one of two. Bxxxx - early '81-early' to 83 Serial Number made in the Neptune NJ Factory. 1982 Kramer literature sites the color options as only black, white and creame. While most are black, this is a very rare Translucent Red color!
The debut of the Duke series was in 1981 and lasted only 4 years. Clearly Kramer's answer to the then popular Steinberger maintaining the minimalist nod to it's inspiration.

Comprised of a Maple body and a short scale 30 1/2" Aluminum/Maple neck, the Dukes were tuned at the base of the instrument. Ebonal (bowling ball material) fingerboard with dots that are aluminum. Tuners and Pickup are Schallers. The neckplate, along with the Kramer logo and serial number read "The Duke".

The Shaller "Double J" Pickup has a three way phase/series/parallel switch. This Duke balances well on a strap and plays great!

Duke wiring diagram I drew up long ago for the Vintage Kramer site: http://www.vintagekramer.com/Electric/wiring-dukedeluxe.jpeg

The frets show minimal wear and bass is in overall great condition. There is some faint scratching on the back and a couple small chips. This Duke would look great in your in a collection or flashing up on stage. Comes with original Kramer Duke Hard Shell Case and new set of D'Addario Strings.
