Has anyone played or heard these instruments?

The webpage certainly advertises them well, and the construction looks to be well thought out (note the golden-section bee-stings). I do like his writing in Double Bassist

I'd love to hear some opinions from the people on here.

    hi,
i´ve been at his shop about 2 years ago.
nice basses, some of the best sounding new made basses i´ve ever played.
but that is what i expect if i pay 20.000 € (hope i remember that right)
but you can also buy one for 36k$ here...

Two Berlin Philharmonic players use Krattenmachers as solo/practice/chamber instruments: Janne Saksala and Edicson Ruiz. They both love them. Mind you, these are people that can afford expensive Italian basses, but rather play Krattenmachers.

I don't know how deep sounding his orchestral basse are though, say, comparing them to expensive old basses.

Best basses ever! I played one of the solo models. I totally want one, but the 2 year wait is a bit of a turn off. I might have to do it anyway though. They're up to 30,000 with taxes though, but worth it.
