I just got a pair of KRK Rockit 8 G2 series for my home studio. MY set-up is in a pretty tiny room (my only available choice). I would say that I'm about four feet from my monitors when they're angled correctly. The KRK's have 8 inch speakers and a tweeter. Is this too big for nearfield monitors? The 8 inchers have a great bass response, which is why I chose them. (In addition to the fact that a sub-woofer is a no-no in my building.) But I don't want to sacrifice accuracy. Tks.
I feel 8" is big for small room they generally don't have good mid-range definition unless cranked. You don't need a subwoofer with KRK Rockit's are bass hyped speakers to start with. You will need to do a lot of recording and listening on other systems to hear what your mixes really sound like.
