I consider myself a Kubicki X Factor expert. I owned many pre fender, fender and post fender Kubicki X Factors. I knew Phil Kubicki very well and miss him dearly. I went to his factory in Santa Barbara many times and saw first hand how they made Kubicki basses in thier hayday. But I have never seen or heard of this kind of Kubicki that is on ebay now. Here is the link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Kubicki-Blaster-Bass-/251303058525?pt=Guitar&hash=item3a82d45c5d Some things about this bass raise red flags with me. The upside down headstock. No indented printing on the back of the tuner gear plate on the back of the body. The dots on the fingerboard. And the printing of the Kubicki logo and name of the bass on the body. It makes me think that this bass was built out of Kubicki parts but it's not a real Kubicki product. I could be wrong and will gladly admit to it. But I am looking for input on this Kubicki. If anyone has heard of these or owns one I would love to know. Thanks.

Bit late to this post! LOL! Only about a year.... Could have been a Kubicki Blaster, a model based on the Ex-Factor Made In Japan and licensed for the Japanese market. Good basses! Not quite as good as the original though Workling on one I have here. will post pics soon
Here you go, pics as promised. A Circa 1992 Kubicki Blaster, Made in Japan! she's a real beauty, gotta say she sounds amazing and plays really nicely. Innobassion / Danny M Stewart added 16 new photos. Just got this 1992 Kubicki Blaster in. THought I'd run it by all you Bass Heads here. It's in good working order, truss functions well, plays really well and sounds awesome! Aesthetically it's got some dings and scuffs, but nothing major. It looks good on the whole. Comes with the original Blaster gig bag. (Which features the blaster Decal as pictured!)

This was licensed by Phillip Kubicki in the late 80's and a number of runs were produced until the early 90's ...then something went awry between Pillip Kubucki and the Japanese maker....not sure what, but it remains that these instruments are very very well made and are quite faithful to the construction of the original ex-factors, but a bit more affordable for the Japanese market.
