I'm considering trading my Sterling for a G&L L1505 (yr 2000) in great condition. The Swami is going to hook me up.Any pros and cons to them? I've played several L 1000 (own an older one) & 2000's but never a 5 string version since I've been a 4 stringer for so long but I'm ready to take the plunge.

How's the B? The overall tone and playability? I know it's up to me but some overall impressions of the bass, positive or negative, will be appreciated. How's the set up and fretwork, etc?

I have an L-2500. The B is really tight on it. It played great & out of the box from G&L it was flawlwss. Perfect frets, great action, etc. The only thing I don't like is the sound. I have an '84 L-2000 (only works passive) & it sounds MUCH better than the newer L-2500. I beleive it has something to do w/the Americian Tilia body w/ash top.

Don't get me wrong,, when I bring the L-2500 to a show or rehearsal & adjust the tone on my amp, the bass sounds great, but compared to my older L-2000, no contest.
