Does anyone have any information or resources on the installation/creation/wiring of them? I'm just curious to see how they're installed and wired and stuff.. Also, lets see some pics of your LED basses ;).

This wont help much since I did it in the building phase but I like posting the pic. It's all fiber optics anyway...

That looks very cool. For the 7 string I'm building I'm going to have a cool inlay set (simple stuff, I'll show it later), and some fiber optic stuff for the side markers. :)

DUDE!!! Is that the same bass that's in the other thread you started?? I thought the side markers were pearl?? Why's that they've changed into ultra-cool fibreoptics here??

You owe us an explanation :scowl:

Heh :D That's a nice touch - I'm gonna have those on my bass as well. Far more precise and managable than actual LEDs :)

One of my ideas I just had.. You think it would be possible to have a fiberoptic little lightup thingy act as a fret marker with a LED under it (under the fretboard)? Since I'm pretty sure the LED has to be exposed to one of the ends, you could have a little loop going on where both ends are exposed to the LED. Oh the ideas :p

Aside from the fact that the LEDs look cool, why do you need them?????

Easier to see where you are and find where you should be on a dark stage. I think they're cool when they're on the side of the fingerboard like Scott's are, but when they're on the front they look to me like a flashing LED sign above the user that says "LOOK AT ME! I'M A WANKER!"

But hey, that's just my opinion.

I thought the same thing until I bought an Alembic with them. IMHO they're very handy on a totally dark stage.

Okay, sounds reasonable. I play with my eyes closed a lot so it never occured to me.

I'm gonna work on that eyes closed thing. It'll save me about $750.00 on my next bass! :D
