Has anyone gotten a good chance to compare and contrast them? I'm testing out the Baggs right now. I mainly want it as a XLR output from my Walter woods for sound guys; but it also seems to help tonaly; particularly with my upright bass and its realist. I know alot of people like the Sanamp but I haven't given it a good shot yet.

The Baggs has no ground lift which can be a problem in some rooms.

Yes, it helps to run a preamp between the Realist and the Woods. I went without one for a while just to have less stuff to hook up but am back to using a pre again (either my Baggs or my Fishman Pro-EQ).

If you just want a DI for a Woods, get a passive DI (no battery means one less thing to worry about) with ground lift...Whirlwind, ProCo have units for $40-50.
