Just got a set of the La Bella 760 FS flats and cannot install them on an SX bass. There's about 3/4 inch left with the ball end sticking behind the bridge hole where the strings go through on the E and A strings. Will I need a new bridge or any tricks to pull them through the rest of the way ?

If a slight tug doesn't get them through, I'd see about doing an exchange from whoever you got the strings from. See if you can pull the string through in as straight a line as possible, worry about getting it over the saddle after you've got the ball end closer to the bridge hole. If you do get it through after that, be mindful of twisting the string.

    Good luck

Every once in a while, a bass leaves the factory with the holes in the bridge a little... undersized? Unless you're trying to stuff strings through the holes that are just way too large, that's probably what the problem is. Drilling the offending holes out a little is the usual solution; just make sure to remove any burrs /rough edges if you do. Of course, you could replace the bridge, if you really want to...
