So I leave it up to the forum looking for a new bass and am looking at the 4402 by lakland or sterling hs. I play funk, latin afrocuban, ska, reggae, motown, blues, rock, and almost anything that grooves. What are your thoughts, pros cons to each. Thanks for your time.
  2. Sterling by Musicman or an actual US Sterling bass?

If it's SbMM then I say 100% Skyline. If it's a US Sterling than it would be a tougher choice. I might swing Skyline because I like the neck a bit more.

Having owned both, I preferred the Sterling.

I love them both. I found the HS model to be lacking in a couple of the switch settings though. The Lakland is a bit more versatile IMO, while the Sterling is a bit more aggressive and punchy.
