I think that a fret job would be cheaper than a new neck if you wanted fret. With the upgraded electronics it might be worth it.

Still accepting cash or will consider trade for a MIA Jazz, P-bass, or stingray for a three way deal. Can add cash for the right one.

I'll do the trade for my Shuttle 6.0...

Not really yet, but at least based on the little bit of noodling I did initially on it, it seems like a pretty nice fretless for 6 bills.

I must say, for this amount of money, this is a really nice playing and sounding fretless. It ain't too bad on the eyes either. :) I like the fact that not only does this have a preamp bypass like any other 55-01, but unlike any other 55-01, it also has the dual band mids, which is particularly nice for a fretless.

Anyway... some carpet shots from a friend for a friend... :)

You can see the light spots on the strings here. These are DR Black Beauties that came off of a fretted bass, so those are the fret marks from that installation. They still actually sound fine tho... especially for a fretless.

These last two show the impact damage... interestingly, I can't find a "flat", so it was a reasonably cushioned blow, but it was enough to make a circular crack in the finish.

You can see in this picture that a previous owner filled/glued the crack with something. Maybe nail polish. Anyway, seems pretty secure and well protected, so I wouldn't be worried about the wood or even the finish at all at this point.

Thanks Vic. Great shots. My understanding was the damage occured during shipping, which would reason it was cushioned. Anyway I would love to keep it because the electronics upgrade which would run about $300, makes it sound real nice. But again, this is going to help out a fellow TBers situation and Vic can vouch for that.

Yeah, I won't mention any names out of respect, but if it makes a difference to anyone, this bass is part of a three way deal to get some cash in the hands of a really cool TB'er currently suffering some impact from recent economic downturns.

Just curious; why does it say "Fishman" on the battery box? This is not an issue, just curious.

BTW, the customer service at Fishman is amazing!!! They helped me out with a piezo bridge issue once and didn't charge me a penny when they had every right to.

  19. i think it's just the battery box that was used. to my knowledge, it doesn't have any piezo's in it.
