I had the urge to cheat on my Modulus Genesis 5, and picked up up a couple 5 strings basses to cheat with. I really liked this bass for the last couple of months, but I decided to stay with my Genesis as we have grown comfortable with one another after 18 years and I can't keep one Jazz type 5 happy, let alone more than one. . (Also check out the Fender Jazz 5 with Agulair HC's for sale also her on TB)

I got this on Reverb, and had the luthier put in Nordstrand Big Splits instead of Big Singles. I love the active passive option, the Big Splits are killer, and I liked the natural sound of the Noel preamp, and the always working passive tone control. Wonderfully set up. Not a slapper much, but this pulled it out of me and it is a slap monster.

    Here is the link.

I had him replace the Big Singles with Big Splits.

I will sell it for what I paid. $800 plus shipping. I figure $50 for shipping, or no charge to come and get it in Denver.

In terms of trades, I always wanted to try a Warmoth Gecko, but I am willing to keep playing to felid to see if anything can knock of the Genesis. Interested in a Subway or Fearful cab. Let me know what isn't in your arsenal, and all I can say in no thank you.

Below is from the Reverb add, and look at the pictures for the reverb posting . Very nice looking bass.

Here we have a mid 90's Lakland Skyline 55-01 made in Korea with some serious upgrades. Here are the particulars:

    • Sunburst Lakland 55-01
    • All maple neck
    • Chrome hardware
    • Nordstrand Big Single pickups
    • Noll TCM-3, 3-band EQ with passive tone and push/pull volume for active/passive operation - preamp running at 18v for greater headroom
    • Noll preamp is low impedance with up to 800 hrs battery life
    • Full electrostatic shielding
    • Full setup and intonation with DR 45-130 nickel Lo-Rider strings
    • Weight is just under 9 lbs. 2 oz.
    • The controls are push/pull-active/passive volume - pickup pan - stacked treble/mid - bass - passive tone.
    • EQ frequencies are boost/cut
    • Brand new CMC gig bag
This has been one of my main 5-string basses. I've done all the work myself and have been building and modifying basses and guitars for over 15 years.

This bass has amazing tone! The upgrades are two of my favorites with Nordstrand Big Singles and a Noll 3-band EQ. The combination makes for a bass that is both warm and clear, with a FAT sounding B string. No flab in this baby.

The Noll preamp is made in Germany and does everything right. Here's what the Noll website has to say:

The NOLL TCM 3 is a compact equalizer that provides easy and space-saving installation. The secure insulation of the sealed equalizer perfectly protects other electrical components. Bass, midrange and treble controls are center-detented and allow 15dB of boost and cut with a gentle slope of 6dB per octave which results in a natural and true sound.

The equalizer is 9-Volt battery powered, adding an additional 9-Volt battery (18V) will ensure more headroom and longer battery life.

The NOLL TCM 3 onboard preamp can be combined with both active and passive pickups.

    Power Consumptiontyp. 0,6mA @ 9V / 800h Batt. Life

As you can see from the photo's, there's a nick in the finish by the EQ controls. It isn't all that bad, and it certainly doesn't affect the play-ability or tone. The weight on this bass is just about perfect and you can wear it on a long set and not get tired.

The reason I'm parting with this bass is to thin the herd, and I'm primarily playing 4-string these days. I have another 5 stringer I'm keeping.

The shipping charges are fixed at a flat rate. This covers packaging and shipping costs. I ship everything FedEx the next business day after payment had been made. I accept PayPal only.

You can certainly make an offer, but if it's a lo-ball offer I will politely ignore it. Nothing personal - I just know that this baby is a Killer deal at the price point I've set. The upgrades alone are over $300 so this makes the bass a steal at the price I've set.

If you are looking for a KILLER 5-string, look no further. This bass is the one you want!
