Lakland 55-02 vs 55-94 (point of view of owner)

    One of the epiphanies I had in the last ~half dozen years or so was that you don't always want a bass to "cut through" ...sometimes you want the bass to sit underneath and support everything without necessarily punching a hole in the other instruments' spectra. And it was while I was doing a lot of gigs with my 55-02 that I came to that conclusion. The Lakland definitely doesn't seem to cut through a mix the way a Sadowsky does. But it does do a wonderful job of supporting a mix.

    Interesting point of view.
    I feel the need to really hear myself and all the details of my playing. That's where a Sadowsky is second to none to me. But Lakland are still great basses.
