For sale is this one-of-a-kind Lakland 55-94 Custom with 3 single J pickups and LH3 preamp:

    35" scale

Quarter-Sawn Rock Maple neck with Graphite Reinforcement Bars

East Indian Rosewood fretboard with Birdseye Maple Dots

Quilted Maple top, Swamp Ash body (I believe, please correct me if you know that to be wrong)

    1.81" nut width

    19mm string spacing

Weight is 8 lbs, 13 oz.

    Includes original Lakland hardshell case.

I acquired this bass earlier this year, and it's in excellent condition. A couple of tiny marks on the end of the headstock are the only blemishes I can find. As I understand it, this bass was originally built for Chicago bassist Jauqo III-X in 2008. As you can see, the humbucker pickup that you would find on a standard 55-94 has been replaced with 2 singles, and the pickups have been spaced differently. Also, the neck has a custom profile, just slightly narrower and shallower than the usual 55-94 neck, which feels awesome.

In some rooms, the original Lakland single-coil pickups would hum when used individually, so I replaced them with Bartolini split-coil hum-canceling singles, but I do have the originals and they are included with the bass.

Why sell this very unique Lakland? I've decided to have Lakland build a custom 55-64, and I need the funds from the sale of this one to facilitate it.

$2100 shipped CONUS. NO TRADES PLEASE.

As a lakland fan boy, may I ask what the custom 55-64 they are build is for you. I have two custom laklands and always love to hear other customs they have/are making. Good luck with the sale, if I wear a 5 player a would be really tempted by this.

Nice bass! The spacing reminds me of the Scheff bass, with a middle pickup added.
