It looks good, but what are you going to do about the hole by the neck pocket?

I like the figure on the burl! What are you going to use for filling the holes and for finish?

  5. Love this idea...thinking about something similar with an old SX jazz I bought

Nice. Mine is a 2001 in rare CAR & maple fretboard. Came with Gotoh style tuners. I upgraded them with US Hipshot Ultralights. Upgraded the preamp with a US Bartolini 5.2AP. I have tried Nordstrand Big Splits. Didn't like them. Then put in Bartolini MK5's. A bit too subdued for my taste and ended up putting the MK1's back in. Sounds great now.

  7. Wow, very ambitious. Most mods are just a change of a pickup or something. Kudos on taking it to the next level. Looking cool!

Looks fabulous and can't wait to see how it turns out! I'd be sure to put in some kind of coil switching - either one for inner and outer coils or you might want to put in a separate coil selectors for each pup. I used the MK5's and NTMB 5.2 ap, inner-outer coil selector and really liked it. Good luck and keep the photos coming!

    Thanks Guys!
I use epoxy blended with walnut sand to make dots and holes closed.

Hopkins, I'll make a small burl piece, fit it up and put it on titebond. Then will fit it to the neck pocket by using machinery or by hand

How are you going to accommodate for the depth of the neck pocket relative to the new thickness of the top going on?

    Its simple.
Top is 5 mm , 5mm of ash+ finish must be removed.

Got it. Didn't realize you were going to plane down the body.

Wow... I got inspired by this post.

I have got a spare jazz bass body and a spare buckeye burl top, which is not that great looking (no way near yours).

I have been putting it off for a while, I think this is the time...:bassist::bassist::bassist::hyper::hyper::hyper:

    Nice looking lakland...

    Thanks Danny.

The problem is, my spare burl is not as awesome. I wish I had something closer to what you have.

    Here is mine.

    10470688415_776c9f2279.

It does not have an intense figure, thats why it is hard to sell. It is the reason why I decided to create something for myself.:D:D:D

Let see how it will turn out. If I have got spares and motivated enough, I might do the pu covers too...:hyper::hyper::hyper:
