    Hey,

    I have a Lakland 5502... love it.

But my main basses are either 17.5 / 18mm string spacing.

As a result, the Lakland feels more difficult to play.

I'm not really keen on replacing the bridge if I don't have to (any ideas welcome)

But I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just replace with some saddles that are adjustable or not.... to bring the spacing down to 18mm?

    Cheers

  2. The problem with replacing just the saddles is then you might have problems with the string tension pulling them outward. There's little grooves to hold the saddle but the B & G are really going to be trying to spread out. I'd think you'd have to replace the bridge.
