I'm seriously gassing for a Lakland DJ4. Perusing basscentral.com shows some listed with Aero pickups with others are listed with "JJ" pickups. I thought that all DJ basses had the Aero pickups. Is this just a misprint in the ad, intended to show that it's a J pickup config, or was there a change in the type of pickups used sometime during production?

Aero is the 'brand', JJ is the type (two Fender Jazz Bass style pickups). As far as I know, all DJ's have two J style pickups (JJ) made by Aero. :)

Ps Smokin' bass and GREAT passive sound.

    Yup, that is the case
definitely, the DJ5 is up there with the best in terms of best passive 5 string imo. The 4 string is no slouch either
