This is a beautiful 2009 Lakland Darryl Jones 4 string bass. It weighs only 7.46 pounds! This is the lightest solid body bass I have ever had. Here is a detailed list of everything you should know:

-2009 Lakland "AC" Darryl Jones 4 string bass

    -Lakland pickups

    -Super light weight

-Standard Lakland 10" radius fret board

    -Plek'd

-The neck pickup was replaced by Lakland, previous owner broke the winding on the original (same difference). Now it works fine and sounds great.

-Plays beautifully with nice low action.

-Currently strung with chrome flats. Nice low action.

    - Tusq nut.

-The bass is really clean, but there is some buckle rash on the back (won't show up in a photo), although nothing that can't be buffed out.

    -Purchased from another TBer.

-Includes generic tweed hardshell case. I don't have the pickup cover shown in the last photo.

Selling because I've been playing guitar more lately and I need the coin.

    It's a really nice bass.

$975 shipped within the CONUS. PayPal is OK. Reasonable offers considered.

Amazing weight! Is it neck heavy? How does it balance on a strap?

Very well balanced, no neck dive.

  4. do you have a pic of the back of the body (curious to see the grain)?

For the record, I can't find the tweed case that is in the photos, but will ship with a Gator lightweight case that is just as good if not better in my opinion like this one: Gator GL Lightweight Bass Guitar Case.

Can you weigh it and double check the weight? It's really hard to believe a solid body jazz would weigh 7.1lbs. I bought numerous amount of basses here and found out a lot of the weight numbers were incorrect

I will take it in to my office. We have a shipping scale there that is very accurate.

So, I took the bass to work and put it on our postage scale, which is pretty damn accurate. The reading was 7 lbs, 7 oz, or more precisely, 7.46 lbs. I apologize for the description earlier being less than that; I was relying on the representation of the prior owner. It's still incredibly light for a bass like this! PM me if you're interested.
