    You have a very excellent bass in your hands, brother. That pearl white always looks cool on the monitor; I've never seen it personally. I had a J-retro'd LPB one for a while until I decided I had to have a 55-94. Enjoy!

    Has anyone not liked this bass? I have only heard good things. Nice bass, also.

  7. David...I am so glad you like the bass!! I miss it myself and had to pick up a Black DJ4 to replace it. I should have it on Wednesday and I have already got Roger from Jeannies (HIGHLY recommned him!!!!!!!) making me a Black Pearl guard for it. I got a lot of compliments on the color and the guard the only time I got to play it out. That bass is definitely a player. I got the action and intonation set up very nicely and you could probably lower it just a tad more if you needed to. The DJ neck profile is great and is one of the main reasons I had to get another one!! I hope mine turns out to be as nice as the one you got!! Enjoy her and Thanks again!

    Peace,

    The DJ is a heck of a nice bass. The tort guard looks great. I went for the "uber-white" look, and added white pup covers and chrome knobs to mine.

    Although I'm currently enjoying my recently acquired 1987 Guild Pilot 4, I have always loved the look of the DJ4 and 5. These models may be my favorite Laklands. I'm glad you guys like yours and I hope to get a DJ5 some time in the next two years.

    i haven't actually used this new bass with my main rig , but
    i used it at practice the other night , and i can say this may be
    my favorite passive bass so far ...

    it already has an aggressive , ' in your face' tone ...
    i can't wait to try it out with my Ampeg / Bergantino set-up !

    this is a tight fit , no nonsense bass .

    it's lightweight compared to my other basses ...
    beautiful rosewood , bound and blocked neck .
    absolutely no neck dive , dead spots , or other annoyances .
    { and it looks awesome , too ... }

    i guess you can tell i'm excited about it !

    ** side note to Tommix ... don't cancel your new DJ4 , you know you'll just miss it if you do ... :D
    also , the set up you did is cool , no need to lower the strings at all ...

    That's hot. I just wish I could get one without the matching headstock.
