This is a one of a kind, purple sparkle, modified Lakland Skyline BG5. I purchased this one in late January 2019 from the TB member that created this beauty and it's only been out a handful of times since I got it. At its core it is a Skyline LOG series bass, Started life as the BG5 pictured below. As it was communicated to me the J pickup routing was done by Tom Cassling, at the Shake Shop in Chicago. Selected for the job because Brian at Lakland highly recommended him for the job, and from there it went to Marty Bell for the magnificent treatment you see today and got the slick USA headstock logo at the same time. After I received it I installed brand new Hipshot USA Ultralite machines. Currently all passive, both Nordstrand pickups, wired as V/T-V/T. Plays beautifully and sounds big. Comes with two pickguards, a plain black and the white pearl that's on it now. Ships with good condition Gator plastic hard case. Weighs in at 10.3# No trades at this time please. Priced at $1500 and pretty firm at that given 3% PP fees and shipping costs these days. I think that's fair since that price is PayPalled and shipped CONUS. Enjoy the pics. The depth and dance of the sparkle is very difficult to capture in a still photo but in person it’s alive.
Both pickups are Nordstrand, P5 for the P pickup and I assume an NJ5. Just not sure if it's the vintage or the hum cancelling as I have not taken it out.
Just kidding !!! This is an astoundingly beautiful bass. I was just poking fun at the TB "tradition" of posting "If this was just different, I'd be all over it!"
I happen to have a matched set of nordys in one of my 5564s and they sounds great! It was an early one and prior to the Hanson pickups being perfected. These do not come on the market often and the only way to get a new one of to order a US Lakie... So don't hesitate!
Texted a pic to my wife. She thought it was seriously cool. Almost a green light. Wish I knew if the pups were hum cancelling...
Ask and you shall know. Th P pickup is a standard Nordstrand P5. The J pickup looks to be a Nordstrand vintage, not split coil. A very well shielded pickup as well. And a very quiet bass.
