Could someone post one or more detailled pics of the lakland 5 strings heastock.
This could be the 55 skyline or USA series, the headstock that use a bar string retainer.

I'm particularly interested in a sideview pic.

What I want to determine is if the headstock face is complelty flush with the rest of the neck or if it is stepped down a little...

    Thanks a lot.

    Peace,

    JP

No problem, you can look at the pics on my site but I'm not sure if I have any that will help. If I have a Lakland in I'd take a pic for you, but I don't right now.

    Thanks and good luck,

a slight step, however, the string tree does provide some downward tension.

    a lot guys!

I asked for this pics because, I also use a flat headstock on my basses (my design is a bit different and doesn't need string tree) and I was thinking of new ideas.

The lakland headstock seems to be designed with very small step down.
I was wondering if I could make a completly flat headstock (no step down) with a countersunk for the tuner washers and nuts (a la afterburner) and using a bar string tree. Of course the headstock sould be pretty deep in odrer to lower the tuners. I'll continue o think a bout it and maybe make some prototyping...

    Thanks again.
