I think I already know the answer, but there's no way to buy lakland p bass pickups alone is there? I think it's time for a change from Seymour Duncans, looking for a new sound. If the lakland pickups are a no go, can anyone recommend replacement pickups just like them? I love laklands but I can't afford that right now. College debts sucks.
If you can't get the Lakland P (which I'm pretty sure you can), try the Nordstrand Np4 or the Fralin P-Bass Pickup. Both of them are superb.
you can order the lakland p-bass pickup or any other lakland pickup directly. the p-bass pickup is roughly $200, and woth every penny. the best p-bass pickup ive ever heard.
They emailed me back, apparently a company called Hanson makes Lakland pickups. $200+shipping. Saving up starting...now.
Not sure about those but email [email protected]. He contacted me a few hours after I sent the email, great guy. And yes pbf
I don't know if I'd pay $200 for the pickup. Try out a Nordstrand NP4. Someone in the classifieds has one for sale. They are selling it for $85. NO RELATION TO SELLER AT ALL... http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=566102 Check it out.
Thanks, I was also looking into Nordstrand's and Lindy Fralin as well. How do the all compare? Any input? Thanks again guys
Hey sorry to bring a random question into this thread instead of pming, but Livewire where is your avatar from? It's pretty sick.
In general Nordstrands are a bit more modern sounding and Fralins are pretty accurately vintage sounding pickups.
i cant speak for the p pickups but in using the j pickups from the above makers, i wouldnt describe them like that at all.
