Lakland Skyline 55-01 vs. Warwick Rockbass Fortress

    Which is superior in quality and sound?

    I would say the 55-01, just because of the work done by Lakland after it returns from overseas. Both are decent basses in that price range.

    I have a Warwick Fortress (not Rockbass), and it's one of my favorite basses of all time. It's a keeper. If you're patient, you can find one used for the price of either a new 55-01 or Rockbass.

    But if you can't wait, I'd go for a 55-01. Bartolini pickups and electronics, excellent fretwork and attention to detail. But the Rockbass isn't bad, I just prefer the 55-01.

    Yeah I think I'd really prefer the 55-01...just having a tough one finding a used one. =) Basscentral had one but it is of course already sold. They should really keep the website updated. =)
